Smooth juneberry is a small, slender tree that often grows in oak forests, and in mixed pine-hardwood forests. It does well on sandy loam soils in dry to moist situations. The new leaves are bronze colored in the spring, but turn dark green by summer. It is a beautiful landscaping plant.
